Hi!

In this blog post I'll share my story with cars.

During early childhood I watched the Cars movie from Disney and Pixar, which sparked my interest in cars and racing. It's a really good movie! Then, when I watched Herbie: Fully Loaded, I developed a love for the Volkswagen Beetle. But as time went on this interest faded, and I moved on to other hobbies. That story changed recently though.

During the pandemic, I stumbled upon some Initial D memes and eventually ended up watching the whole 1998 anime. I also played Need for Speed Heat, and spent many hours customizing cars and racing, I had tons of fun with it! Soon, I moved on to something more challenging: rally racing. I played DiRT Rally and art of rally, both of which are great games as well.

There are some really awesome content creators in the car community. TheSquidd makes bold and inspiring documentaries about various car-related stories. Shooting Cars showcase many interesting video essays. ArtFilmStudio creates high-quality car animations using Blender and DotDogg does too, except this last one does a series I really like called Initial D Brasil, an adaptation of the original series but set in Brazil, featuring Brazilian cars and 90s music. (Also off-topic but yeah, I'm now hooked on eurodance because of it!)

My favorite types of racing are the ones that take place on normal roads that people use every day, except with the goal of getting from point A to point B as fast as possible: Touge and Rally. Touge (峠, or mountain pass) involves racing up steep mountain roads with lots of corners, while Rally is racing on different surfaces like dirt, gravel, snow, and tarmac in varying weather conditions.

My favorite drivers are the drift king Keiichi Tsuchiya (土屋圭市), the father of drifting Kunimitsu Takahashi (高橋国光), the queen of the hill Michèle Mouton, the brave Henri Toivonen, and the determined Ayrton Senna.

And these are some of my favorite cars:
