Heya!

This blog post is about art, my favorite artists and webcomics, and how I became an anthropomorphic artist.

Shortly after I found out about furries, I stumbled across many beautiful pieces of art and talented, skilled artists. I remember Zillion Ross was one of the first artists I followed. He did some tutorial videos on how to draw furries and artist tips. His webcomic, Half Blood, was also one of the very first I've read. Anyway, after watching a video on learning how to draw furries in 30 days, I decided to take on the challenge and started drawing foxes.

After some time and effort, I managed to complete the 30-day-challenge, and now I could finally draw foxes okay-ish! So after that I started drawing humans, which was my next step towards my end goal. To draw furries you need to learn to draw the basic structure of the human body, of course this will differ depending on your art style, in my case I opted for plantigrade (the entire sole of the foot is on the ground, like humans, bears, raccoons, and rabbits do) and a more cartoony style, taking a lot of inspiration mostly from Paco Panda and TC-96.

At first I was very reluctant to create public accounts to publish my work. During that time, I made a few friends, some of which had a Telegram channel where they would showcase their work in progress and final art for a selected group of people. I found this a good idea, and created my own too, that way I felt much more comfortable showing my art to people. After some time, I decided to create an account on social media to finally share with the world my artwork. I'm very grateful for all the people that supported me over all these years :) I've met artists in various places, such as Telegram groups, Instagram profiles and even on VRChat.

Webcomics, alonside music, are some of the things that most inspire me to draw. The atmosphere of the universe that artists create, the story, the relationship dynamics between each character, their backstories, all of this is simply amazing to me. I started reading furry comics, some of my favorites being Tamberlane, Oren's Forge and I Think I Like You. But there was also a time where I was reading several Undertale and Deltarune Alternative Universe comics (Potoo Brigham's Growth Spurt AU, TC-96's Endertale and LynxGriffin's Paper Trail are some of my favorite ones).

Recently concerns regarding AI amongst art people have been raised. I do not personally believe AI will replace real artists, however these generated posts have already flooded feeds on Pinterest, Instagram and the majority of social media widely used. This situation has been very annoying for me, fortunately Cara and Pixelfed (depends on the instance) are mostly free from this issue, as their terms of service do not allow AI posting, which makes the feed a whole lot cleaner. I dislike the fact Instagram is basically copying TikTok, but I cannot currently leave the platform, since many artists and people I follow and talk to are still there. I try to use it as intentionally as possible.
